USB GPS Receiver

This device is a simple GPS receiver that plugs into the USB port and outputs standard NMEA data. The USB GPS Receiver was designed to meet a few simple requirements:

  • Output standard NMEA strings to the host computer via USB
  • Smallest possible size
  • Integrated antenna

The USB protocol is handled by a FTDI FT232BL. Drivers for all popular operating systems can be found here. The GPS receiver is a Leadtek LR9101LP and uses an on board passive antenna from Sparkfun Electronics. Download the Altium Designer project files here.
